I totally understand WIA. Myself, the only thing I do is add the name of the PBEM game to the beginning of the file name - the rest of the file I leave as is.

I meant eg changing from 'In The Mood 2670BC Paddy" to eg" Paddy_PBEM_In_The_Mood_2670BC"

Let me put it this way: The default naming convention for me for this game is:
Rasputin of the Vikings, 2670 BC.SAV
And this is the only change I make to it:
Mood-Rasputin of the Vikings, 2670 BC.SAV
Actually, since I'm filling in for Ras, I go a step further in this case and make it:
Mood-Wittlich of the Vikings, 2670BC.SAV____________________________
