                    • PLaying my turns soon. Have another annoying JGL.dll error caused by CIVEXE again. Uninstalling and reinstalling again from scratch. Wish I knew what was causing this behaviour.

                        • Something to do with Direct X or Active X and Open GL all graphics programs that the Civ programs use by calling on the COMs or Component Object Models libraries, the .dll dynamic link library, in C++ code.

The .exe file or the programs main file that runs the game is looking for something it cannot find and crashes leaving the other libraries containing he COMs open. Normally you call for a COM and then close it when you are done. Since the program crashed these COMs are left open and interfere with trying to run the main program again because it attempts to re-open whats already open if you try to launch the game again. Very frustrating. Requring a re-boot to close out the open programs forcefully by shutting the entier system down and re-boting from scratch even then sometimes they remain open or something else wil not allow the program to run until the .dlls are replaced. The only place where they are is on the CD so re-install and start over.

Probably caused by me toying around with the game editor to create that new sceanrio I mentioned. I guess I am doing something the programs main exe does not like or cannot recognize.

Sent turns to Rickety and will play the other 2 player and send very soon.

                              • Bad news fellas. My hard drive is fried (on a friend's PC now). Taking it to a technician tomorrow, hopefully back soon.

Here's what happened: a friend of mine was given a PC, which was having trouble, so I tried to fix it for him. Tried to reformat his HD, it stopped responding. Brought it home, installed into my PC as a slave, tried to reformat it from there. It didn't respond. My PC started acting funny, and a day later, sudden collapse. Now my HD isn't responding. What do you reckon, a boot sector virus?
