  • Stupid Player demands :)

was recently playing a multi game with 3 extra players (total of 4). Well, game was going on nicely, and nicely balanced. At around mid industrial age, one player who occupied a "U" shaped island decided to claim the ocean inbetween the U. He said any ships entering that space would be attacked.

I thought that was funny and wanted to provoke him (at the time, i had destroyers & he had steam ships). He had more land, cities, & ground units, but i had a better navy. The thing about his setup was, that most of his 'big' cities were located on the inside of the U. This of course means he wouldn't be likely to construct a lot of big ships on the outside ( which i could thus guard with a small force) and i could effectively control his navy.

I moved a old ship into 'his' waters, and got attacked (thus declaring war). He said i should of 'respected' his territories - hehe whatever. Within 2 turns i moved in 4 destroyers waiting just outside of his view and attacked any ships i could. After the third turn i declared to all other players that the water this player previously claimed to be mine from now on, and that everyone could use it with the exception of him.

Hehe, best part is yet to come Next couple of turns he tried to attack me with more steam ships from his manufacturing bases on the inside of the U. Didn't really help. During the total period, he sunk 2 ships of mine, though i resupplied 3 bringing the number up to 5. A few more turns later it turns out he was begging me to let him use those waters. HEHE

I havent named names on purpose - no need to embaress him If you got any funny stories of what players tried to demand, post them!

I played a guy that told me to give him all my cities. I told him to "forget it" and to "come and take them if you want them." And, then, he did.

Its the little kids that really make me laugh.

        Tiny pangea map, 3 players.
        me- Aztec
        p2- German
        p3- Zulu

The second that silly zulu sees me he goes impi mass off of his 3 cities and rushes me, however I expected as much from the zulu and german opponents so I easily weathered the storm with spears and flanking Jag warriors. A few turns later (after sussing up a storm about how 'it wasn't fair' that I could repulse such an attack of the 'godly' impi rush ) the kid was eliminated and I was almost in tears from the laughter.

Another brilliant Idea from the think tank. Sure, why don't ya both come up. We'll put the prisioner on the honor system, have 'er guard 'erself.

How wide was the mouth of the "U"? Would it have been that hard to simply park a line of ships across?

it was big enough to allow 4 squares of ocean tile inbetween it. I suppose 10-12 ships would of blocked it. But he didn't do that
