    That's OK with me then.

You should have plenty of space. You have the English across the channel and would be allowed to raze any city they build in the continent, and you have the Cordovan AI to the south, with 2 puny cities. I don't think they will expand too much for you to be a disadvantage.

I have the Danes to my north very close, but they're a human player. The Rus is far to the east and not a danger. If they plopp a city before my nose, I just will raze it, so I get rid of the problem without growing at the AI's expense.

      That's what I mean.

What do the other players say to this rule?

So we cannot take AI cities but need to raze them if we want to expand? I don't know my position since I haven't played this scenario but isn't that a bit harsh?

I guess if we all agree to this rule it will be ok but it will also confer an advantage to certain civs due to their position anyway.

AIs are generally a problem in MP games due to their weakness. I remember a game with 4 human players and 3 AIs on a continent. One human player had 2 AIs as neighbors, took their cities in the early game and ended up as the #1 power, having the space reserved for three civs. 2 of the players had the other AI as neighbor and took it, gaining at least half the space for the civs. I had no AIs as neighbor and had to kill one of the human civs to stay halfway competitive. Here one player (with 2 AIs as neighbor, separated by a big jungle) had clearly a huge advantage over the other three. He ended up with half of the continent for himself and had only to build a third of the cities he owned in the end.

This is why I'm generally strongly against AIs in any MP game (well, that and their stupid behavior to whore maps and techs). As I saw, that Anatolia set it up with AIs, my first thought was - I'm out here. But the scenario is fun and it may be worth to make a compromise.

So is it such a problem to be fair towards the other players and to leave the AI corelands where they are, i.e. not to attack them but merely defend, and raze (not take) only cities they build in front of your nose? Since civs are thinned out (no Burgundy, no Poland etc), everyone has plenty of space.

I have no problem with not keeping AI's cities and razing them instead. However this should only apply to AI cities that the AI starts with or founds. If they capture a human players city the human player should be allowed to liberate it.

Yes of course. That's what I mean by "defend". We should try to keep the AIs in the game and let their core (what they own at the start, visible in the scenario) untouched.

I make no promise that I won't raze an AI starting city or two. But I won't wipe out much of them. I might even give a few back if their nice about it.

I have sent the turn to SirOsis but it doesn't include Feephi with the Corovans. Are we restarting or not?
