  • AAAIIIEEE!!!!! help!

i'm attempting to install civ 3, however, it got stopped in the middle of the sound files via the cat jumping on the keyboard. now, it won't run properly, and i need to know how to remove civ3 from the registry after it's been manually deleted.

    can anyone help me out?

unfortunately, no. i can't re-install over the old registry. it asks me to un-uninstall first, but refuses to actually uninstall. and "Cod do civ 3" doesn't help me at all...

indeed... but my join date is truly mine... damn... has it been four years already? i could also wear the title of "Apolyton Legend" should i see that fit, however, that is a can of worms best left untouched at the moment...

Editing the system register is tricky at the best of times - and you can end up creating worse problems then you have now. Does the computer have more than one harddrive? If so, trying to install the program on the other drive might help your situation...but the only way to completely remove the partial install would be by editing the register, but I'm not even going to try and guide you in that endevour - I know my "computer savy" limits!

I would download a Registry cleaner. There's plenty of the available for a free trial. Since you've deleted the folder's that contained the games' files, the registry cleaner should clear the registry of any Civ 3 remains. Then you could do a fresh install of Civ 3.

Ah, good suggestion BigFree! I didn't even consider that option.

I suggest you download the program by performing a Google ( http:www.google.com ) search for regedit.
