  • Spaceship production

This has probably been covered before, but is it possible to rush the spaceships parts with gold? I've never actually built the ship before, but that's what I plan on doing on my current game ( first monarchy level game ). Thanks.

I dont think so, but if you can it just makes the Alpha Centauri road to victory all the more whorishly easy.
Shouldn't you be dead or something?

I remember that each component was like a small wonder... no rushing, only with leaders

        thanks

Thanks a lot. I haven't started the ship yet, but I figured that it wouldn't be able to be rushed.

You can gold-rush it, but if you do the ship will crash when it lands on Alpha Centauri, killing everyone inside, because the engineers forgot to convert between standard and metric units :P

Aren't metric units the standard? how come the royal system can be standard??? It's just hell in earth trying to calculate and convert inches, feets, yards and miles to each other's proportions, let alone to the metric system.

Metric is standard. Everything else is just that imperial stuff, which makes no sense anyway. Except for certain engineers from some backward nation.

While they may not be standard, they are called standard units.

btw, you don't seem to have gotten the joke.

Don't you remember the mars probe that crashed - wasting a lot of money and effort - because the Eurpopean and American designers didn't realize they were using different units?

Nah, we remember that. It's an old mistake made by Lockheed and their stubbornness to still use pounds. Not that they'd learned anything from it. CNN Martian news from -99.

Well, this is just like calling a grapefruit "apple". It is grapefruit, and everyone else say it is, but it is still called by a minority "apple", even though they recognize it is a grapefruit.

Standard is their name, not their description. So calling them standard units identifies them, not as being the standard, but as being the system of measurements including miles, pounds, gallons, etc.
