I always liked some of the units in CTP 1 and 2. So I was wandering if any of the unit creators there ported them over to Civ 3?

What units? Mounted archers, Fascists, Fusion tanks? It would probably not be hard to do this. There's already a whole lot of units created, why not these?
Stealth units like Slavers or Lawyers would be hardly possible to create, though. And not be worth the effort, too.

War Walker really rocks! Fusion Tanks too. I really like the Musketeer in CTP too. (the one that looks like a Red Coat).==========================

Make settlers/workers invisible, and create unit that has 1 attack, invisibility and detect invisible. Voila, a slaver, only visible to slavers (by the time subs and such come along, slavery has been abolished and such...), which can be built from start, and only they can see workers/settlers. Perhaps even 0/0 A/D, so to require military units to do the actual capturing.I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

the unconventional units are cool.
the corporation, slaver, abolitionist, priest, terrorist, spy, etc
I think there's even a Eco Ranger, which can only built if you choose that type of govt, and it can return 21 tiles of land around it to its original form. you can wipe out a super size city with one shot. lol. even more powerful than nukes.==========================

The CtP units are stored in a special SPR(ite) format and can't easily be converted back to gifs or other readable formats. Some of the fan-made units may still have the original art, but even for many of those I fear much has been lost. So the only way to convert CtP units to CtP2 is by using screen capture techniques, a painfully slow and awkward proces...
The other way around (Civ3 units to CtP format) is much easier though, so you're better off playing CtP instead!

I don't think it matters that graphics aren't re-done easily... what matters is that it would be very tough to create something with an *effect* of a CtP unconventional unit in Civ 3.
Oh, and BTW, I always thought CtP1 unit graphics are way cooler .Solver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator

Thats the thing with these animated sprites, impressive a day or two, then you speed them up then turn them off altogther, and basically just back to Civ2 graphics, except with more pixels/colours.
If youve got unit animations on in MP, then youre doing your opponents a disservice playing so damn slow needlessly. I wish there was an instant move command in CtP aswell.Call to Power 2: Apolyton Edition - download the latest version (12th June 2011)
