  • !!Problem with Establishing Embassies!!

Ok I dont know if anyone else has had this problem or what, but it seems my only shot at establishing embasses is immediatly after I get Writing. I try to click on the capital city icon on the other civ's capitals later in the game, but it doesnt work! I've clicked around like 10 other different ways as well, and that really uh. upsets me. I'm really missing out on some deep gameplay with my diplomatic options so limited, hey?

So anyway I just registered here for some help, to find out if this is a bug or anything, and what I can do. I swear I've wracked my brain over this for a while and Apolyton seems to be my last resort heh

much thanks in advance for any comments you may leave...

The answer is very simple, but the manual is misleading (IIRC). You must click on the capital symbol of your own capital. This will give you the option of esatblishing embassies with the civs you have contact with.
If you cut off my head, what do I say?
Me and my body, or me and my head?

In Vanilla Civ Ctrl-E does the trick, in PTW you can click on the "E" to the right side of the minimap.

Embassies, a waste of money if you want to see it's capital, then invade it

I like embassies; the little icon with collumns besides the pictures of the leaders (PTW) is pretty to look.

That's been the primary reason for me to keep them, also... Pretty useless and expensive.

I like to have embassies everywhere so I can see who's at war with who and who has a MPP with who? You see? That gives you a good advantage when it comes to trading.

Just a note: you'll have to reestablish them after wars (pretty obvious, but someone had to say it).

                      And in response to this:

Embassies, a waste of money if you want to see it's capital, then invade it
A logical strategy for warmongerers, but for us peaceful types, they're really cheap (get 'em early, and don't go to war).
People want to know why I do this, why I write such gross stuff. I like to tell them that I have the heart of a small boy... and I keep it in a jar on my desk. - Stephen King

Hey, I just establish embassies once for each civ. Even if I go to war with a civ, my embassy eventually returns to action after the war is over, and it continues to work during the war when concerning viewing mpp's and rop's.
