That would be terrific.

Actually, Rebellion is okay if you use RebEd to speed up production times and make ships faster. The game becomes much more playable then.

Unfortunately, it doesn't fix the outrageously cumbersome interface.

SMAC 2. Fix a few problems (crawlers unbalancing, for example) and give it a great AI that can take real advantage of the Planetary Council... a few interface tweaks... It'd be TBS heaven.
