  • Next TBS you'd wish? (the real thread)

Since Civ3, many turn-based strategy games suddenly appeared. Now, GalCiv will get out in no time and the future is not clear in our crystal balls. Which TBS would you like to see next?

Besides, explain your choice if you wish, espescially if you say "a new TBS". Personnally I say SMAC2, cuz there's so much potential, it's been a long time and can get a SERIOUS upgrade (gameplay, etc.) and I like SMAC
Go GalCiv, go! Go Society, go!

Time spent playing Civ2 & 3 (with a little CTP) make up 90% of ALL computer games I have ever played!

While I can't say 90%, I'd say I've spent about 50% of my computer time playing Civ2 and Civ3. That damn DiabloII just took up a lot of time. I've never played a game like Civ3 before where I'm still playing just as much 4 months later. It's just a good game.

But I'm not counting console games in there. If we counted console games my time pjercentage would go way down.

I'd like to see a Civ 4 if some of the issues with Civ 3 were worked out.

Edit: Oh, and EU3, of course... didn't see that option at first.

Definitly Master of Magic 2. Take it up to todays standards in grapics, improve AI, rework some concepts, would be a jewel.

Well I wasn't gonna put GalCiv 1 in option: it's already is gonna come out. And we stil have some ideas of what is GalCiv with all the beta testing.

Shouldn't this type of threads be in the Civ General/Future forum?

SMAC 2. But it could not be developed by Firaxis.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

I voted SMAC 2 but new versions of MoM and Col. could be interesting too I suppose, I'm not really familiar with those games.

BTW, EU3 would be interesting as well, especially if, as you suggest, it was converted into a turn based game.

Well, that would be a sticky one. SMAC was made by people who left Firaxis to form Big Huge Games. Firaxis, however, owns all rights to little things like the setting, major characters and the fictional 'history'.

                              That's why there's RON.
