  • How to change upgrade cost in ediitor?

How do I change the cost in gold to upgrade units? Currently, it is set at 2 gold per shield of difference between cost of old and new unit, I want to set it at 4 gold per shield of difference between cost of old and new unit. My reason is below if anyone is interested, but I'd rather if people don't go off topic by disputing my reasons.

The reason being that in my opinion, upgrading units in the early game is too cheap. Delaying linking your first iron, or simply aqquiring iron late, can allow for a quick cheap army of swordsman, at almost half the cost of rush buying them. This is much more advantagous for human since the AI doesn't seem to upgrade quite as vigourously.

I know about other possible solutions to this problem, such as reducing "shield cost in gold" to a price comparable to rush buying, but that would involve increasing "citizen value in shields" for balance between governments reasons. This major change to rush buying would change game dynamics a lot, which I dont want to do. Increasing the shield value of units will not work, as it will not change the fact that upgrading is half the cost of rush buying. What I want to do is make the cost of upgrading the same as rush buying, and not change the cost of rush buying.

I think 2 gold per shield is hard-coded and cannot be modified.

Try to re-write the game codes then
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.
