  • Firaxis please license Quake3 engine for the game

    or maybe the UT engine.

This way you could have super good looking outdoor scenes.

You are king and you have to travel from city to city. You are riding on a horse and your staff surrounds you. You can issue commands to your staff and they will send people away executing them.
The more money you spend in the executive the faster these orders get executed. The more you spend in legeslative the stricter your rules are obeyed.

You have to fight every battles for yourself (with your men of course) and it would be a very dangerous thing to do. Since when you are dead the game ends.
That would end suicide battles and much more strategic planning would be needed.

Then you wander over to the enemys territory and look for a good position of your army. And then you order the army troops here and then you attack.

    So use a FPS engine!!!

Ata, I thought the doctor said NOT to take the red and blue pill at the same time...

I'll be happy with Civ3 as the old good high from above strategy game, not some retarded would-be-FPS. Besides, neither the Q3 or UT engine can create realistic outdoor scenes.

[*]When I load a 3D-world action-game, I do that because I particularly want to play a 3D world action game. (Blue pill)
[*]When I load a turnbased strategy-game, I do that because I particularly want to play a turnbased strategy-game. (Red pill)

      As Patriqvium said: Dont mix.

Thats where SimGolf comes in: Duck through the green door in your palace and you're out on the links with the other world leaders. If you have UT installed then instead of regular golf you have the option to conceal a combat shotgun under your fake 3 wood and hunt them and their bodyguards down over 18 standard levels and the bonus "clubhouse" mission.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

          LOL!
          oh well...
Would you be able to drive the tanks in modern battles??
I wouldn't mind seeing A game (not civ3) where you wander around your palace giving orders and stuff, You know map room look over your maps see where you armies are. Diplomacy room, Talk to other diplomatically minded peoples. And last but not least bedroom where you get to sleep for eight hours. You know black screen no sound, Great fun!

A big crosshair in the diplomacy screen that can be directed at the neurotic herald would satisfy anybody's bloolust. Just make sure that you are ready when they declare war on you for killing their court jester/diplomat!!!

Hihi yeah that would really be funny, shooting heralds.

Or if you have conquered your enemy, you are the one who can track him down. There is a special level loaded and he tries to escape and you can monitor all his movements and have placed lots of traps (such as in wheel of time) and then muahahahahhaha

Stalin falls down to the alligators.

                hihihihi that would be funny,

There could be traps like banana on floor, or self-shooting guns. Or you could lead him into a big arena with some lions which run after him. Or if you feel really funny, get the missle launcher and lock him for yourself

I'd much rather shell out money for this game then DeerAvenger. It's a mini-game waiting to happen.

Firaxis, please ignore the deluded RTS/FPS fan who started this post, he wants Battlezone Civilization, not the strategic game myself and others have come to love and want more of.

Actually Battlezone Civ would be kinda cool, if too hard to put 6000 years of units into. Maybe my grandkids will have technology to allow such a game

Actually, "shoot the herald" does not sound bad at all...

I played Shogun : Total War earlier today. After seeing the same emissary knock my doors the fourth time (I had declined three times), my sick little mind started to hung for a "execute him" button to see that idiot be slashed into oblivion right in front of my throne. I guess playing strategy games starts to make me aggressive...

                            Patriquivum: hehe

And I would like to be able to say: I GOT YOUR NUMBER, I GOT ALL YOUR NUMBERS before I slay the entire enemy army

Or just think: You get a new tech and want to try out the new weapons on your own. You could have the captured enemy soldiers run around while you try and shoot em with your shiny new plasma gun.
                            Woooooeyyy!

Well, it wasn't in Praha (Czeckoslovachia, now Czeck Republic) that they tooked two different times the diplomats and throw them out of Castle windows?

A bit dark, but not more than SMAC "torture" of captured enemy leader. It can be done in funny and lighthearted way, if Firaxis PR prefer so...
