  • Armies and Resources?

is there a mod out there to let you have armies from the start of the game. Also is there one that will let you play with out resources (like civ2). If there is drop me a line. Also is it possible to combine mods?

Well, you can edit your own mod to do both of these things although its not as simple as just switching things on or off (I think )

    1) I believe there is no way of allowing armies at the start. You can however, mod the Military Academy to say, no prerequiste tech and when you build a certain number of barracks, say 3. So now build 3 barracks and you can build the Military Academy.

    2) mod out the resoureces for each unit. It's a drag...

    3) You can combine mods using the Import tool in the Editor (File menu).

    Hope this helped

It's very simple, even you can do it. Just turn your Palace into a Small Wonder with the abilty to make Armies without a Leader. All you have to do, after you've changed it in the editor, is to open up your PediaIcons.txt file, scroll down towards the bottom of the file until you find the Wonder splash entries.

The next step will depend on whether you have PTW or not. If you don't, you will want to add these lines at the very beginning of the all the entries:

      #WON_SPLASH_0
      art\wonder splash\forbidden city.pcx

That's a zero BTW. The Forbidden City graphic is optional, you can use any one you want.

If you do have PTW you can just include this entry anywhere you like:

      #WON_SPLASH_BLDG_Palace
      art\wonder splash\forbidden city.pcx

The one drawback of this approach is that you will never be able to build your Palace in another city, unless your original one is destroyed in some way.

That only works to a certain extent. Anything imported after the first attempt will overwrite what existed before. The chances are he'll have to manually change things in order to add elements of the second scenario.

Yep, that basically means you can only say, import the rules of one scenario, the map from another, etc. You can't import part of the rules from different mods for example.
