  • Lowering your science makes your citizens happy ?

    Apparently it does.
I just don't know how or why ?

Never heard of this, unless the reduction in science spending is accompanied by an increase in luxury spending.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

It's probably a rounding effect. Could also go the other way.

Of course- reducing the amount of gold given to science automatically raises the % of gold surplus, that either ends up in happiness or in cash
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I ran a quick test, and the phenomenon has to do with how the game handles halves. If the slider would give half a gold for luxury spending, that is rounded up unless science and luxury spending add up to 100%, in which case the rounding is done in favor of science at the expense of luxury spending. So there are times when lowering science spending releases the game to round up on luxury spending instead of down.
