  • A discovery

Playing Civ 3 on a "real world" "Huge" sized map really is quite astonishingly dull. It's like watching wood warp.

try it with 24 or 31 civs.

    Otherwise, yes, it is boring.

if you have all the civs, each can build about 20 cities before the limit is reached, so you will have wide tracks of unclaimed wilderness.

      Its like watching paint fade.

Also, it becomes difficult to manage all your cities and to control coruption. I generally stick to large maps.

I always feel like any size "real world" map is boring; I like the sense of discovery that random maps provide.

Yes, but sometimes I just get the feeling "man, it would be nice if that civ ruled the world". Especially in Civ2 I loved to start alone in America and conquer the rest of the world form there!

Or start alone in England, which gave the AI a chance (no expansion untill boats discoved) That was really satisfying.

Or play as the Aztecs and wait for the evil english to come and burn everything
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

To make matters even more boring, we are playing pbem on the world map. One turn per day when lucky.

We are all so bored that we are already duking it out diplomatically even though nobody has any military units at all yet. Nothing more nasty than a bored civ III player

I like the feeling of being able to conquer a continent or two. U get lots of cities, units and of course resources!
