    I'm both on-topic and off-topic, but I'm not popular

I really don't contribute. I have just been here a long time. I have been here since 1999 even though my screen name says 2000.

Jeez, almost 4 years. Maybe I should stop posting here.

I really don't know who to vote for. I'm still thinking..

My votes, based on current activity:
      Dominae, Sir Ralph, Catt.

Theseus and Arrian should have been in the HOF long ago. This alone shows a lot about this list.

Thanks to everyone who voted for me, but ...what were you thinking?!?

I haven't been around a real long time, but I do have an idea about those who have done much for this site. Theseus, the man who brought us auto-bombard, was responsible for compiling the Must Read Threads which should be required reading for anyone starting Civ3. Arrian's countless threads on Ultimate Power, Chariot Upgrades, and Early Leader Choices serve as blueprints for anyone who cares to win. These guys had very little reason to spend their time on these tasks, other than helping the rest of us. Without their posts, I would still probably be trying to make it out of the Ancient Age alive.

Alexman, you are basically carrying AU, AU PTW, and AU PBEM. Your dedication to the game and the people here amazes me. You created the "Corruption Calculator". What more do you need??

        Special thanks to Dominae.

Sorry for the rant, but I came to this site looking for help with an excellent game. I found it with these people.

A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. I agree with alexman about Theseus and Arrian. But are we voting for recent activity (this appears to be implied given that the votes are monthly), or just who we think belongs in the HOF in general? I think Aeson most definitely belongs in the HOF, but he's been largely absent for over 2 months now...

Thanks for the comments, guys. In addition to some of the other specific people that have been mentioned (alexman, do you dream Civ3?), I've gotta turn around and give a BIG round of applause to Catt. In terms of ongoing input / posting, the quality and depth of his posts, attitude and helpfulness to others... I could keep going, but if there's ever any 'award' given around here he should be getting one

Voting extended a day; the respoonse has been more than I had expected, I haven't had time to look at everything!

                    ----

she wrote Joe. that's more than enough to get her in the HoF.
I know that... but I didn't think that many people were reading it...
How did you Civ III guys come to visit the AC forum...
...I remember that she started Joe about a month or two before/after I joined in July 2000

I am boycotting. But I may decide to vote for someone later. When does this close?

I have narrowed it down to about 10 people. but I still think we should be able to vote for ourselves. Believe it or not this could correct a lot of bull**** votes.

I believe voting ends tomorrow. As DC said, there's a lot of new votes to tally... I could point out quite a few that he's missed.

                            Okay, here's the finals!

                            Congrats to our newest members:

Locutus of CTP MP and CTP moderatorialship fame and
orange of Apolyton Yearbook fame! A valued OT poster and former civ II and CivIII-civilizations section poster!

                            Over 160 were nominated!
Next election is scheduled for April/May!

                            As for Civ III posters:
Catt is in tenth with 47 votes.
                            Ixnay is 12th with 46.
                            korn is 13th with 45.
                            alexman is 18th.

                            etc.

Next time Civ III might even have a champion elected

                            ---

                            ---------------------------------
The disclaimer that "on-topic posters will never win" sours this whole Hall of Fame idea
Oh, that was a FAQ that answered that... YES, on-topic posters will win.

And anyways- if you look at that list, there are only about 1 or 2 people who have only posted off topic.
All the others started in the on-topic... they just don't post here any more

But are we voting for recent activity
Not really... the reason that the votes are monthly is so that
                            "flavor-of-the-month" posters arent elected

                            alexman
Theseus and Arrian should have been in the HOF long ago. This alone shows a lot about this list.
Oh, I don't know... they haven't been around nearly as long as most of the HoF members... I would think that the elder statesmen should get in before the young guns
