    Hi Everybody.
I was just thinking, The trade options in the game are very limited, as for now the only trade that's possible is the resurces trade. wouldn't it be nice to buy military equipment like tanks or aircraft like in the real life.
That is just one thought of many others i had in mind for the future game options.

I'ts on Firaxis's wishlist, but don't hold your breath as it is rather long.

    Maybe for the next expansion?
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Is there an actual Firaxis wishlist I can read?

        Thats would be sooooo cool,

        "Germany designs MG42 machinegun"
        "Britain buys MG42 Design"
"Germany loses its arms factory to America: America can now produce MG42"

I mite make an MG unit, 1(4),20,1/1
it could upgrade to armed car 15(5),20,3/3 (maby 4/4, since it would be faster than a tank!)
        Help negate the vegiterian movement!

Yea, they wish to find another way to charge you thirty bucks for another minor "expansion" of Civ 3.

As for trade, that, and commerce, on the oceans is very poorly depicted. Privateers and submarines cannot even attack trade and merchant shipping in Civ 3, even though that was those units' actual historic purpose.

the unit diversity is all to shallow to really go into arms dealing in civ3. SMAC made that a lot better. You could really get totally original designs from another player and there would be a reason for buying foreign military hardware.

As for the wishlist, I've pretty much given up all hope of another expansion or whatever.

              think about something like this:
Israel Produce the Merkava Tank, They are the only civilization that can build this tanks, but all the other civilizations can buy it from Israel, If it's her will of course. The same is about the F-15,F-16... of the Americans, or the migs and the sukhoy wich are the russian Air Fighters, The french Mirage is a good Idea.
and each one of this units will be special in it's own way.

              Just Imagine.

Unit development as in SMAC and all the space 4X games has always annoyed me. Somehow it just doesn't fit into a strategic level game. It is too tactical. It always seemed like work instead of play. "Dang, I beat everyone to chopper, so I basically won the game, but now I have to dink around a design the unit before I go crush everyone."

I agree with Brizey on this. About 20 variations on a single unit would be kind of mind numbing.

An arms factory to modify basic units would be a good idea for a SW. You could modify an existing design by either :

                    1) paying gold to increase a stat of a unit by 1 (about 1000 gold per point)
                    2) taking away 1 stat point to increase another by 1.
                    3) paying gold for a special ability (2-3000 per special ability)

This SW would be available after researching Mass Production or perhaps a modern tech.

You should however be limited to a certain # of variations of the basic unit.

I would love to see some way to trade military hardware. You wouldn't nessecarily need different variations of units (though I myuself like the idea of having several hundred more units for this, makes the game interesting and alive), if could be as simple as India selling battleships to Babylon because the Babs lack a productive coastl city, or Germany and Russia both have Tanks, but Germany buys some MA units from Persia to get an edge on its war with Russia. This would reqire no new units. However, there should be two classes of units, tradable and untradable. Obviously you can buy tanks, but not infantry units. This would just reqire two more check boxes in the editor.

Trade routes implemented by highlighting ocean squares after cities build harbors
Revolt chances halved to prevent AI from razing 1000 years old cities
Give us back the political borders! Enough of "cultural" influence
Allow us to play using the keyboard only (as in SMAC)
Workers should be slaves in the ancient ages, machines in modern times
Cities can be abandoned and occupied again later, leaving the city ruins on the ground as a cultural bonus; those cities would eventualy disappear if not occupied again or supported by gpt (I know it's complicated, but Moscow was burned to the ground by russians and rebuilded after Napoleon was defeated)
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. I think unit trading should definately implemented. Possibly in a patch?
