  • MMP? Somethings missing?

There's something I'd like to see, when I have a MPP with someone:

I'd like to see all map of the civ I have a MMP with (Just the territory map) (or just show the tiles, where there's an enemy unit (or could become enemy), within the allies view of range... This makes it easier to actually could help protecting the ally...

Or maybe this should just be avaliable in modern days, where the media keeps telling about wars in allied nations...

What do you think about it?
This space is empty... or is it?

I do consider medias and explorators should permit to get information while doing nothin, like Marco Polo and merchants did though...

But I would guess that giving the territory map in such way should be a choice, no more.

Yes, it should be a choice for human-human, but I'd say it should be that way for human-AI, since the AI already knows all land (I remember once, where the enemy just entered my land (from ocean), when it was my ally's turn, he just went straight towards the newly arrived enemy to attack him, and then went home again...

i doubt they'd do this because we have the "potential" to abuse it, therefore, it must not be in the game.

In humans to human games, I would like to have the option to give away a non teritorial map.
IE: world map - territory map.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

In CtP2 you get updated on an ally's map every five turns IIRC but CtP alliances are rather stronger (and harder to get out of) than Civ3 MMP's. It all comes back to the same problem - how to give a simple computer a chance against us sneaky humans.
Never give an AI an even break.

Well... maybe this option could only be in the 3 easiest diffeculties. That way the sneakiest humans doesn't get an advantage of it

(Taken for granted that the sneakiest humans plays on the diffecult levels)

In reality, in advanced civilizations, the question is more about precision and if it's updated more than about if you have the map. Modern information gathering could be put a little better in Civ.

modern information should be much different, as stated above. its not exactly like the US doesn't know where the new roads are in Canada unless the leaders of both decide trade maps...
