Noob question regarding stealth fighters.

Are stealth fighters not able to do Air Superiority missions, or am I doing something wrong?

If that's the case, then why build stealth fighters at all?

Stealth "Fighters" mirror their real-world counterparts in that they are actually a bomber, not a fighter.

As for why to build them - they are a cheaper alternate to the full strength Stealth Bomber.

I use them for two things. Firstly they can do recon which stealth bombers can't and second they are cheaper to replace if shot down so I send them in first if I suspect the defender has jet fighters.
