    Mined grasslands with roads, Republic - 2 food, 1 shield, 2 trade

    Mined grasslands same as above but with Railroad - 2 shields


    Forest with road , republic - 2 shields, 1 food 2 trade

    Forest as above but with rr - SAME?


    I thought RR's were supposed to increase resources by 50% !
    One OS to rule them all, One OS to find them,
    One OS to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

    No, not Forests for some reason. However, if you add a mining bonus in the editor it will.

      I think the manual/Civilopaedia is more specific and says that RR's increase the productivity of mines and irrigation. Forest can't be mined or irrigated so no benefit from RR's except movement.

        Cerberus is correct. It adds an additional unit of whatever improvement has been added to the terrain.

          Thanks for pointing that out The difference between increasing productivity of square vs improvement are easily missed.
