Im in a single player game were I can no longer place cities I was wondering is there a max amount of cities that can be in a game?

Maximum of 512 cities for all civilisations. -
Yup, 512 and AFAIK it's hard coded, so we cannot change it. But I never really reached the maximum, this would bring my computer on its kness
