  • You? or President?

Don't you hate being called "you" as a leader, it sounds so informal and makes you unimportant.

Wouldn't it be nicer to be known as "President"

eg, "President, we have successfuly captured Berlin."

I would also love to be able to give commands.

So I could say back to the General:

"General, imprison all armies and destory all buildings within Berlin, then send our armies back to the nearest base camp."

Then the General can say: "Yes, Mr President."

I dunno, I'm kinda partial to being referred to as "God Emperor" or something equally ego-satisfying. "President" just doesn't cut it, you know?

Your title should be relevant to government. If we have custom governments the title in one may be God Emperor. Also, try playing as a custom civ-you can change names

We have talked much about titles, and stuff, like for example, "Your Magesty, London has built City Walls." of course that would be for Monarchy. I personally like the idea. for Republic and Demacratic governments it would be Mr. Presedent, Monarchy, of course Magesty. For Despotism, Fascism(fundamentalism), it would be Emperor, etc.

Tical rubs his eyes and with a sarcastic smirk replies, "Wow yes! I can see how useful a feature like this would be!".

I like the idea. It is so important for the atmosphere of the game.

Furthermore, if you are elected UN leader (or whatever the civ3 equivalent of SMAC's council is) then in diplomacy, the other leaders should call you by that title.

The thing with the UN-SMAC Council is that if you are not the leader-elect, you will do everything in your power to destroy the council and its leader country, am I right? Thus rendering the UN useless. I think a UN-like council should be included in Civ3 but it should be a neutral body where nations address their grievances and international agreements can be reached unlike in SMAC where the leader-elect controlled what happened.

Just be able to choose a custom 'title' and all will be well... it is a simple enough feature to implement (compared to the entire game)

Yes, in Fantastic Worlds you can change the titles, and if you are a computer whiz, you can do the same with the rules.txt files.

Its not just your titles there talking about, its how they respond. for example, "Mr. President, we have nuked the Russians." of course that sounds kinda gay, but it was just an example. I always change the titles at the beginning of the game.
