  • Aarrgghh! This must be a bug!

I'm playing deity OCC on a very rigged map (downloaded from Apolyton). I have survived to modern age but have trouble to keep up in tech, as I missed Newton's by 2 turns.

Now this is the bug: The year is 1906. I am in peace with everyone. When I click to 1908 and check the diplomacy, Egypt is in war with me and refuse to talk! I got no message about war declaration. I did some reloads and tried to make them happy by selling them lux but it did not help. Anyone have a clue?

do you know if they have nuclear weapons? i know that when someone launches the first nuclear attack the rest of the world declares war on them, and sometimes there isnt a pop-up message informing you of this (you are just instantly at war with them and all deals are canceled). check and see if the rest of the world is at war with them.

I have never had this happen to me, because the AI always nukes me instead of another AI

They are at war with at least one country (China) and probably have nukes, but shouldn't I be able to chose myself if I want to hate them for nuking? There was no popup message between the turns.

I agree that you should be able to decide whether or not you care if they have used nukes. Personally i couldn't care less if Russia nuked India (for example), but in the game the country that uses nukes has the world declare war on them. It can be frustrating because it can lead to broken deals (as in your case), which is something i've seen a few times as well.

I brought this up a long time ago, and one of the Firaxis guys told me it's a bug that's fixed in PtW. I had it happen all the time B4 I got PtW.
