  • Huge Maps/More Civs

Of course it would take a huge map to put 100+ civs into one game, which could make it very tedious to explore the world--to move around and make contact/war with other empires. But the solution to this is simple. Increase the movement rate of units by twice, thrice, or four times as much as that of Civ2, especially for settlers and explorers. This would allow you to have a huge map and still be able to explore the world and expand quickly.

I did post a thread on this very thing, but went unawnsered. I totally agree with you, there should be much bigger maps then in civ2, and lots of more civs. I'd say about 50 more civs to choose from, and about 32 to play with at a time, and make the maps at least 10Xs as large.

But I dont like the idea of multiplying the movement of units, I mean, in civ2, you could explore the US in 5-8 turns! When it should take you as long as 20 turns!! Although, if the map was to be this big, you are right in multiplying units' movement by at most twice.
