  • Slow Motion Sucks

Alright - going crazy here. (Guess this could also be under "Your system Thread") Ever since I bought the game I havn't been able to play it on my computer. All animations are in Slow Motion. (Loads quick - just animations). At my work however, it runs tip top and it's not nearly as fast as mine.! I've tried EVERYTHING (well, obviously not)... anyone have any ideas?

    MY CPU (SLO MO)
    1.00 GHZ Celeron
    376 MB Ram
64 MB Vodoo 5 PCI Card
    WINDOWS XP PRO

    MY WORK CPU (RUNS FINE)
    466 MHZ Celeron
    128 MB Ram
    Internal Video Card (4MB?)
    WINDOWS XP PRO

I've tried both pro and home xp, tried a different video card, arg... Has anyone seen this problem before? I can turn animations off - but fortifying units and building settlers goes sooooooooo slow! HELP!

    tim.

For a second there I thought this was going to be a MP complaining thread, you narrowly avoided a good ol' fashioned beat-down.

Have you tried updating your video drivers? You probably have, but I had to ask. When I first started running Civ 3 it would crash pretty often, and the problem went away after I updated my video drivers.

Hmm, I think I remember something about people having problems trying to run the game with a Voodoo 5 videocard. Try searching for "Voodoo" in the Help forum...
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.
