Haven't played CivIII for awhile so it may be that I've forgotten this but I'm unable to upgrade warriors received after popping a GH. And yes - they're in a city with a barracks.

Yes but you do not say that you have iron in the resource box. One of those two things must be missing or you do not have the money.
Problem was that the msg said "No units available to upgrade." But there were 2 warrior units in the city and active.

Actually Cracker, I don;t think that's right.
If, for instance, you move a Warrior into a town with barracks, and thus use up all of its movement points, you can still upgrade it by selecting a Warrior in any town that CAN still move, hit shift-u, and all Warriors in towns with barracks (including the one without move points) will upgrade, presupposing you have Iron and enough gold.
Still don't know the answer to Elowan's problem... can you post a SAV?The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

The shift-U is a work around but I doubt if ELowan was on that track.
Just as the using the city display screen acessed by the back=fore arrows to upgrade units and still preserve movement capability for the turn is a workaround. But again I am sure that was not what Elowan was talking about.
