Absolutely not. I'm a Republican. (not extreme, not moderate, sort of a "regular" Republican.) I play like a lefty, only I'm a bit of a hawk, which I am in the game as well.

I hate pollution with a passion. No pollution lasts multiple turns in my empire. Mostly its cause its orange. I can't stand the orange. I create random wildlife preserves too.

I always am borrowing money to do big projects, and I help those downtrodden cities on the outskirts and give them improvements.

I also give techs to the loser civs.

yeah, i do that, Germany was in a big war once, and at the end of the war it looked kinda bad, and i wanted to have a big war with them later, so i started to fund them, i was giving them like 300gpt so they could help them selves!

I like to create some forests around my empires, i just think irrigation looks so damn horrible! I wish they'd make it look like Farm land/fields. Would look so much nicer, and would look alot better when i have my Battle of Britain style airwars!

      EDIT--

PS - Nice Avatar, Jessica Alba is hot and sexy! I'd like to have some sticky pudding with her! (hot and sweaty!).

I always give some of my unmanageable cities to the loser civs. Especially if I have an island somewhere. Especially if they are about to be wiped out.

And no I don't hate the French. In fact I find Joan irresistible and she's always my friend. Same with Cleo.

I never pillage improvements because I never raze cities. I razed a city once but then I re-loaded and took it again and kept it because it had a harbor which made all the other cities on the continent that I was at war with happy.

I think I need to get a life

How do you handle a pop 23 or more city, if you do not raze? Bombard it to a low number? Trying to garrison troops is very risky in this spot.

Actually they never get that high. I'm usually done with war after the Industrial Age. It gets too complicated, and besides I'd have to invade another continent to do so.

The cities aren't usually larger than 12 and after the resisters are done resisting the city has starved down to about size 8.

After that the war is over. My Cavs are pretty fast

I never polute, and I feel guilty when I chop down the trees. I don't fight much unless it really is a great situation to do it. I ALWAYS keep my word. Usually, I don't fight many wars but when I do they're later on in the game and they're huge wons. Not a lot of little wars. I also have a republic for a government. I despise communism and am not warm and fuzzy w/those nations. I also always choose one computer opponent I really like and make them my ally for the game. My favorite civs are:

                1. Zululand
                2. Iroquois
                3. Persia
                4. Babylon

I hold a HUGE grudge against Russia. I also have gone a long ways back with Alexander. We've been bickering for centuries of civ 3 games. I don't know what's wrong with Persia. In many other civilization-type games, such as Age of Empires, I liked Persia the best. So I like them in civ3 also. And in my first civ3 game ever, Xerxes was the only person nice to me.
"The first man who, having fenced off a plot of land, thought of saying, 'This is mine' and found people simple enough to believe him was the real founder of civil society. How many crimes, wars, murders, how many miseries and horrors might the human race had been spared by the one who, upon pulling up the stakes or filling in the ditch, had shouted to his fellow men: 'Beware of listening to this imposter; you are lost if you forget the fruits of the earth belong to all and that the earth belongs to no one." - Jean-Jacques Rousseau

What do you mean done? You the game is won or you abandon or lay low to victory? What level? Even at Monarch they can usually get one two large civs that will have large cities for I can get to them.

Well if I'm really dominant on one continent and the game turns into move worker move other worker build hospital move galleon I might abandon because it gets really boring. But I try to win through UN or Spaceship. I play on Regent and I'm usually dominant by the middle of Industrial Age.

I don't come across cities much larger than 12 because the AI are still building hospitals. And I don't play for total military victory either.

hehe, i once bombard paris (size 26) and at the end of it all paris was size 3 by the time i had captured it!

And i had to ask Zulu what Albas name was, i seen her in Dark Angel, shes also in Idle hands and i'm never gunna get to make love to her!

If you want some nice websites i can point you in the right direction, just send me a pm.

You guys are too much. I'm thinking of starting an "Open City" rule for MP. All those beautiful Parisian monuments!

Of course this rule would only be enforced by Honor System...

Ok, then I undertand why you do not see large metros. I mean you can even capture them, I have, but it can be very risky to try to hold them with say 18 resisters or more. I do it if the city is worth the risk and I can spare 20 or more units to garrison and I will start the starving immediately.

I am a VERY peaceful player. I rarely start wars and when I do they are quick and are just to secure some saltpeter or aluminum for my powerful defensive army. For me Persia, Russia, and Zululand are real pains in the butt, especially in the ancient age when I dont have the funds to have a lot of mobile defense forces (Knights, Horsemen, etc.) I never backstab anyone, but if anyone backstabs me they get a one way ticket to the grave! As for PtW, BRING IT ON YOU WARMONGERING SCUM, my Vikings shall rule all!

a question to all "very peaceful" players:
when you've got everything built in every city and your tech rate is slowing down because you've got too few cities to compensate the growing research time of the techs: what do you do? (that is, if no enemy declares war at you)

for me it's the time to expand my borders...
