  • They've flipped!

I commented in another thread that I had flipped a capitol with the initiate propaganda espionage mission and I don’t think most of the people who read the post thought I was full of it. So having a big cultural lead over Egypt (and a healthy supply of gold) when I got the IA, I decided to try again. Take a look…

    What age is Egypt in?
It looks like medeival. did they get annhilated in a war? That might help the flip. (WW)
I'm going to rub some stakes on my face and pour beer on my chest while I listen Guns'nRoses welcome to the jungle and watch porno. Lesbian porno.

I didn't comment in the other thread, and I didn't think you were full of it . . . but I kinda wondered if your memory was playing tricks on you.

Great screenshot and great tidbit of knowledge that you can actually flip a capitol with propaganda

They were indeed in medieval. I think the biggest factor in the flip would be the difference in cultural level. I am #1 by a good margin and they were second from last in a 15 civ game - Fish in a barrel.

Just out of curiosity, miccofl, what mod gave you the crabs and oyster shells?

Very interesting and surprising. I even do not think it was possible to take a capitol in an other way than war.

I'm disappointed that losing a capitol isn't any more of a setback than losing a city. Something additionally bad should happen to you like in Civ 2. You have to build a new palace somewhere or your empire could split, etc. In Civ 3 it just magically appears somewhere else. It should be disasterous to the victim. And capturing it by culture should be impossible, in my opinion.

It was disastrous, that was the end of the Egyptians as it was the last city.

                          Miccofl,
Well done on that, I have attempted to get a Capital to flip culturally by surrounding it with my cities. It just would not go.
Have you managed this when the civ had more than one city?
Are the goods in Harlans Good Mod increase to the overall number of squares with goods or are there less of each good? If there are more goods the production rates in the games must be increased?

                            AI civs 5, miccofl 1.

You have to use the espionage mission initiate propaganda. I should point out that I caught them in a state of anarchy and it took ten tries, the other five attempts on capitols that I tried to flip in this game resulted in costly failure. I rolled their other cities but no luck with the capitol, it is a rarity - 5:1 is really a misnomer as it's more like 50 or 100:1 overall.

Are the goods in Harlans Good Mod increase to the overall number of squares with goods or are there less of each good? If there are more goods the production rates in the games must be increased?
You must add the resources one at a time in the rules section and then you must add them to the map either by manual placement or by allowing the editor to place them by redistributing resources. In the mod I am playing all resources were placed manually and it could seem that there are an overabundance of them.
