Alva: A screenshot of a game of Regent difficulity or Warlord? Sorry if I'm a bit slow, I haven't had much sleep tonight...

(open your civ3 folder go to the save games folder, open and copy your most recent save(usualy named something like Caesar blabla 950 AD.sav).
then make a new post in this thread and attach the file
(make sure it isn't bigger then 500KB)
iF possible your most recent game, around 1000ad should be ok
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus
That's OK! I really meant save, but that just proves that I'm tired... My most recent game is a Warlord one, and I won, with a lead for most of the game. I guess you would want a Regent game also, but I have just cleared the save directory, so I have just my most recent one.

I was on Regent, but after reading some articles I went back to Warlord to try a few things out. I have many games going on at once, and have half on Regent, half on warlord. Just finished a game via Diplo on Warlord with France, so I'll go back to Regent now
I play on monarch now and I am moving steadily towards my first victory on that level.
I uninstalled Civ3 and then reloaded. I started a new game. I built the pyramids and I thought, hey that's unusual, but not too much so. Then I built the colossus. I was thinking, now that is strange, I have built two wonders and the AI hasn't built anything, I must be doing pretty well. Then I built the lighthouse, that is when I realized that I was playing on chieftan. By uninstalling the game, I had reset the levels without noticing.
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Heh complicated question Actually, Ive been playing on a modified difficulty: Same settings as regent except 100% ai trade rate and diety level happiness. Ive found after following the democracy game that the lower happiness is actually more fun since it makes happiness improvements and luxuries (especially luxuries) much more valuable
Without mods though I was playing on Regent for fun and Monarch for score. Highest, Ive won at is Monarch. Highest I've tried is emperor.
I started my first Civ3 game on Regent, because that was the difficulty I used to play Civ2 on... and I was too stubborn to let myself step down to Warlord. What a fool I was... I kept being beaten in a game after game... Well, I did get the grasp of the game eventually and - with the invaluable help of 'Poly - mastered it to the degree that Regent games were no longer a challenge for me (so I play on Monarch now).
If there are any newbies reading this: Regent is a bit too much to start on. Play your first game on Chieftain (just to get accustomed to the interface and such) and then immediately move up to Warlord... or start on Warlord right away... you will save yourself a LOT of disappointment. Also, you will be much more likely to eventually love the game.
Micromanagement helps, but it is more work to adjust the tax rate and science rate all the time, when getting near end of tech finding, (get more money, so science can be lowered if only a few turns left in finding the tech working on.
Playing on Regent, but have not had the time to really play.
Played Civ II on King, I think, or was that the scenarios.
Well, keep playing and trying different things out, and if nothing else, try something else that may not help.
Start a war, or something.
See the small left map. Bam, Bam, Bam on the cities with the mouse, seeing if they center on the large map for a direct hit or a near hit. Bam, bam, bam, well, its something else to do with the mouse.
Bam, Bam, Bam, Bam, Xerxes, on your cities. Bam, bam, bam. Just don't get a score for that first person shooter scenario.
