  • stack movement

I usually like to attack my enemies with large devestating armies, and very often, I crush any civ which doesn't want to meet my demands, but the problem is I only can move 1 unit per click, whats the shortcut for stackmovement?

I think that's the shortest post ever seen! I have known this function for some time, but when playing, I very often just forget to use it... Very annoying when quitting, and you remember it!

It's a pity the 'j' key will move a stack only of a same type of units.
It would be useful a shortcut that move ALL units on the stack.
Would be good when you have an invasion armada composed by carriers and transporters defended by Destroyers and Battleships.

Or a stack of artillery protected by infantry and tanks - it's an old rant but if we keep bringing it up maybe someone at Firaxis will take note.

I think true, mixed-unit stack movement will be in PTW.

These are the words of truth.

                Heed them.

i'm sorry guys, but i've tried everything there is possible with the J
                  Shift-control-J
                  alt-delete J
                  Shift J
                  First a go-to, then j
                  J (Times new roman
                  J arial
                  J arial Black
                  J Tahoma

                  etc etc

                  Maybe I need a patch?

                    Yes.
Donwload patch 1.29f (I think 1.21f already have stack moviment, but get 1.29f if possible).
Remember: only units of the same type in that stack NOT fortified will be moved when you move the selected unit with the 'j' key.

Could be. If you haven't done it then do so now.

After all its allways helpfull if you are using the same game as everyone else is.

Indeed, the shortest possible post (other than just a blank space), but still informative!
It definitly answered the originator's question.

My problem with the 'j' key is that I keep accidentally hitting 'h'! This brings me to my capital and then I have to hit the 'c' key to re-center the unit. Not really a big deal, but it throws off my rhythm.

When unit to be moved is selected, press and release "j" key. Then click or drag with mouse to destination. Keypad does not apply.

If some of the same-type units not fortified have already moved that turn, they will follow next turn or when they become available (in the case of workers). For that reason, when "j"-ing workers, I will often just go one tile over, then "j" the stack again for their real destination.

Try "K" Although I shouldn't laugh as I have the same problem when hitting G, half the time I hit F and end up looking all over for the unit that just fortified.
