  • How many play Civ 3 at work??

I'm just curious - my work computer sucks, so there is no way I would install it, and anyway I could never devote that much time.

    Anyone out there do it?
If so, what are some of your "close calls" - e.g. the boss walking by, your clever excuses, etc.

My computer here is OK, the problem is the Boss.
If he see me playing at lunch time he will know why that dam project is not ready yet. So I avoid play civ3 at work.
BTW, the ALT+TAB feature of civ3 will do fine when I have courage to play at work.
Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.

              Cannot play Civ at work

Definitely better for me keeping my job.

But I play the copter game at work
What is the Helicopter Game? The helicopter game is a simple and addictive online game that involves flying a helicopter through a side-scrolling landscape while avoiding obstacles such as walls and blocks. The objective of the game is to fly as far as possible without crashing into any obstacles. The game is played using the arrow keys or mouse to control the helicopter’s altitude and movement. The helicopter is constantly moving forward, so the player must navigate through the landscape by carefully controlling the helicopter’s height and avoiding obstacles. The game is often set to a background of an 8-bit style landscape with simple graphics and sounds. The game has become popular due to its simplicity and addictive gameplay. It has been widely distributed on…Read More...

Yeah, I know what you mean... In fact, pretty much the only time I spend in the forums is during work hours. (Mostly at lunch, but there are exceptions.. )

Hey, that copter game is pretty fun. Now I have another distraction! ... oh great.

I'm a pupil, so no, I don't play at work! And I haven't any time at school to play, unfortunately.
BTW, puil is what it's called when you're 16 and at school, right? I'm not quite sure if that's the term for my grade in English...

Pupil is accurate, but not in common usage here.
I think "student" is a better word, but if you still want to be more descriptive you would say "high-school student".

By the way, the word "pupil" conjures images of Socrates and Plato! Quite appropriate term here on Apolyton!

I could never play civ3 at work, my computer here sucks and my boss would eat me alive (being a woman, I would never imagine that she would be able to understand... ops, sorry, Bella. )

Now, Apolyton... well, I'm not home now...
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

Can't play at school for several reasons:

                            - The computers sucks
                            - It's not allowed (and the teachers are in the computer room most of the time anyway...so it's hard to hide it...)
                            - The mouse sucks (They only have the standard mice...I hate them...ok, they're actually below standard, they don't have a scroll bottom, they have a button, which NOBODY can press...)
                            - There's no sound...
This space is empty... or is it?

no problem. you never know, though - she might be a closet sims freak or something. it's strange how many females i know who actually play computer/video games (and not just the sims).
