  • Patch idea: luxury factory

I want the improvement , that produce luxury. For example Chemical factory produsing "household chemical goods" luxury, bicycle factory produce bicycle luxury, etc...
These luxuries are not available on the map and you need factory to get it. These resources are tradeable. Each factory can make happy only limited number of cities.

Sounds interesting, but way to different from the current system to actually have any effect.

Civ 100. They always seem to add great stuff to every version but they always take out some good stuff too and leave some good ideas out.

It would be a cool idea in any event.

I think it would be tight to have a Shopping Mall improvement that vastly increased luxuries, like 100% or something. To make massive cities happy in the modern age.

If you have all 8 luxuries, a marketplace should keep even the largest cities from falling into disorder, without any luxury spending. If you have enough contentness improvements/Wonders, it may even celebrate WLTKD. I think both that a luxury factory and a Shopping Mall, as described, might make it almost absurdly easy to keep every citizen in a city happy. Of course, some players might like it that way. And there's no reason these improvements would have to come at a low cost.

Sheik: Yup. For example, there's no way (AFAIK) to make a wonder that improves other civs' attitudes toward you, as you could in Civ II (Eiffel Tower). So that's one example of a thing from a previous Civ game left out of this one. In fact, the editor doesn't seem to allow you to provide many properties not already present in some unit/improvement/Wonder in the game. It's still a powerful tool, really pretty impressive actually. But it seems almost like the designers didn't consider that modders might want to add entirely new things to the game. Allowing some things from the previous Civ games would seem obvious. (OTOH, it might be a lot of work.)

                How about this:

Once you have all 8 luxuries, you can build Disney World or some kind of Theme Park. We would treated this the same as the Small Wonder and it would contribute 1 happy face to each of our cities.
