  • Do Forests reduce global warming

I have a bunch of tundra tiles... and those are equally good with a mine, or with a forest.

The forest takes longer to do tho.

Do forests have any effect on global warming? If so... ill make forests instead to... clean the air a bit.

      I don't think they do.
But you should plant forest on tundra tiles, it's the best.

I've decided I don't believe in Global Warming in Civ3. So I turned the whole thing off.

I don't think a mine gives the same number of sheilds as a forest (2) unless the tile is railroaded. If it already is, a mine would probably be best; I don't know this for sure, but I doubt that forests effect global warming in the game. Of course they should, for it to be realistic. If the tile doesn't yet have a railroad, I think that just foresting it might take less time than both mining it and changing the road to railroad -- I'm not sure. Finally, if the tundra is on the perimeter of your empire, foresting it will slow invading troops, due to the increased movement cost.

To turn GW off go to the trrain tav and change the "Pollution Effect" to "None" for all the different types of terrain.

I always plant forests on tundra, because it looks better.

That's what G.W. Bush did. He didn't believe in Global Warming and so he had someone turn it off.

He is now working on disbelieving third world poverty.

I know, now if I could only get those non existant enemy battleships to stop pounding my coastline...
