  • Created new unit, need help

Created a new unit for the game (the terrorist), and made espionage a requirement for its development.

When I researched espionage, the game displayed this error message:

    Error Reading File
    ".\Art\Units\Terrorist\Terrorist\INI"

Obviously I've done something wrong. I recycled the explorer graphic and used it as the terrorist graphic; did I accidently create some problems doing that? Have I left something out entirely? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Easiest way (that I know of) is to go into the Art\Units folder in your Civ3 directory and create a copy of the Explorer Folder, rename it Terrorist, then rename the files inside the new folder as well, i.e. Explorer.ini -> Terrorist.ini.
This keeps the original unit intact and creates a 'new' animation for the new unit (though it's really the old Explorer animation, etc).

      That worked. Thanks!

That is the easiest way, but also the most space requiring.

One other way, if you care about your space, is to create a new folder in the Art\Units directory and name it Terorist. Then copy and rename the Explorer.ini file, and open it for editing. Then add ..\Explorer\ berfore all filenames.
