  • Just saying "Hi"!

Let me introduce myself. I'm the moderator of this forum. LOL I actually HAVE been around...at least once a daily believe it or not. Sorry that I haven't participated in any threads, but I've tried to keep up with 'em at least.

Anyway, I'm here and ready to help with anything...new ideas and so forth. Otherwise, I think this is the one of the best (THE best?) forum here...so many constructive ideas and debates, etc.

Well, the preview of Call to Power 2 got me thinking about some things: http://www.cdmag.com/articles/029/087/ctp2_preview.html . The seemingly improved diplomacy looks promising, but I've yet to play a game in which the AI wasn't pretty much set to do his own thing anyway at some point no matter how logical/beneficial your diplomatic efforts.

But if it works, Civ 3 should one or two-up it!

P.S. Think this is and was the best possible reply, as my 100th message to the apolyton forums.

Nice to meet you Yin26. Is there a Yin25 around somewhere?

CTP2s diplomacy is looking good. They say they're aiming for better than SMAC, and that may be a little harder to judge seeing as we don't have factions this time around, but here's hoping they justify their claims. Ultimately, any good diplomacy ideas that come out of CTP2 will probably end up in Civ3 in some form or another, so the competition should be healthy for the genre. A lot of people around here seem to spend a good deal of their time being disgruntled, but in the end CTP being around is only going to improve Civ3 in my opinion.
