Why must there be so many newbies at the civ3 forum but no veteran like me

It's ok Lor Ty, According to Andz you don't matter anyway, you're just a Chieftan. Oh wait, I'm only a warlord. Darn, don't read this post.

another mighty master to hail .

now about the topic . I would like to see more options of AI sides than that boolean yes/no 1/0 option that we had in the rules.txt. like not 2 options but 4 . and they could change with time . the US an Imperialist during the early 20th century is now .... OK bad example .... well lets say... UK . during the 17th-middle 20th centuries they were imperialists now they are perfectionists....

      P.S. remember I am just a Chieftain . so dont answer .....

P.P.S. how much posts do I need for getting "my Warlord " ?

Just 18 more lowly Chieftan. ::sigh:: it's a good thing I'm such a nice prince, if I were like Andz I wouldn't acknowledge your futile cries for my help. :: pats back ::

        (just kidding of course )

Yah, I like the idea of the AI changing settings. The most effective game play would be expansionalist/militaristic and late in the game it would be perfectionist/civilized. I'd like to see the AI switch, obviously you'll switch throughout the game, and the AI should know this by how you play, not by what your Civ is "known" for.

I know that this would probably be too hard to do but maybe the AI could learn from your past styles of playing (it'll probably have to cheat to do this or something). eg If you tend to be an all-out science guy, then the AI goes expansionist-militaristic.

            Hm.

I don't think the AI should remember your playing style across games, i.e., what it learns about you should be carried forward to another game. However, it should learn about you in a game and adjust its playing style accordingly.

There was a very interesting game called Castle -- IIRC -- for the Atari 800 (not sure if it was available for other computers). The interesting thing about it is there are a number of players in the game and you can "train" them by playing a number of games. It would be cool if you can train AI players in Civ 3, but the difference is each game in Castlelasted about 30 minutes, not 30 days

As a player of Total Annhilation, I can tell you that customizable AIs do wonders for spicing up a game and keeping it young. I would like to see settings such as bribe/no bribe (for units and cities), sneak attack/no sneak attack, build at least x cities then go perfectionist, etc. At least some of the settings that appear to be level-dependent should be included, for people like me that play King because they like an AI that can fight dirty, but won't play deity because unhappiness problems are more annoying than challenging.

As for Andz, well, I remember when he was just a settler (joined a day after me). Orange, you may have less posts, but you've been here longer than either of us, and that means more in my book...
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
