My first "giga" game. Is there a way to show other 8 civs.... I am only seeing first 8 in diplomacy and wonders and various other screens. Some key I need to know about?

Good question, I was wondering the same thing myself today. I have no idea though...What's my signature going to be when I become a Warlord? Guess and Win!

No there is no way to see more than 8 heads at once. You can use Jaybe's method to switch which 8 you see though. I usually put up my 8 greatest "threats" or my 8 closest neighbors.
I'm with the later.
THat's why I limit my max to 10, and I do my best to destroy two or three of them in some point of time just to clean up the map.I drink to one other, and may that other be he, to drink to another, and may that other be me!

Oh, no -- MORE is better. You don't have a problem until you contact them all, and trying to keep a handle on all the relationships later on is so much FUN!!
... though it is a little more work. That way you can make occasional mistakes to make the game a little more balanced!

This has always bothered me since day one of my owning Civ3. Would it really have been that hard to fit fifteen places (16 if Firaxis had decided to allow all AI games...that's a different thread of discussion) for leader heads half the size or so that they are now. For connecting the heads together to show relationships, they could have used slightly curved lines as opposed to the straight lines, and each kind of relationship could be represented in two shades: always-on darker shade color to show all know relationships and a brighter shade color to highlight a selected civ's relationships. This kind of setup would help immensely, I would imagine. I know I'd really like to be able to see the relationships between all 15 AIs and myself during a World War in my games. Perhaps after PTW comes out this diploscreen tweak could be included in a patch that's sure to come. The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

I think firaxis made the game just for 8 civs at a time.
Later, on fans demandings, they added the option to play with more civs.
Thus, playing with more than 8 civs is a bonus. It's not supported. Too bad, but I think it's cool that they added the bonus though.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

Sabre2th,
In the last chat, I was a real pain about getting a "unified trading screen."
Jeff Morris said that yes, they were going to give us something, but didn't really say what. I got the sense that it was a better way to see all possible and active trades with at once... hopefully it'll be for multiple -> all civs, and will be the best answer. The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

They added more than 8 Civ support too later to fix every interface glitch, but playing with more than 8 Civ isn't any sort of AS-IS "hack": you can chose more than 8 Civ with standard interface for maps larger than standard.
I can stretch my opinion till considering this a sort of "gentlemen agreement" between Firaxis team and Fans: they accepted to allow more than 8 Civ but none must complain about some corner the developers had to cut to fit the delivery time slot.
PTW expansion is [b]exactly[b] the place where to fix that cutted corners, hence to have interface corrected to easily manage all the 16 supported Civ, and sure it will be not a minute too early, IMHO.
I really, really hoped that they'd fixed interface limits with the second patch, once fixed most critical bugs, "gentlemen agreement or not". You know, I'm not really "a gentlemen", so I use sometimes the tactic to agree early and negate later..."We are reducing all the complexity of billions of people over 6000 years into a Civ box. Let me say: That's not only a PkZip effort....it's a real 'picture to Jpeg heavy loss in translation' kind of thing."
