Every Civ III game should have an individual timeline, not to be bounded to the regular BC and AD. Time should start when some advance ('Time' perhaps, I know this sounds ridiculous and should therefor maybe be a part of, say, Philosophy) is discovered and something major happens like:
- Your civ gets some religious influences, a new religion is formed for example
- Destroying a civilization, well, most likely a major one
- Building a wonder even
- Whatever, why not because you managed to sail round the world, found the south pole or something
This would result that there could be different years on different places of the world. Also if you have a time and meet a other civ that doesn't have it's own time it should start using yours. Also at some point the time used by most people should rule over the smaller. Maybe also capturing a capital would change their time to yours.
If a replay mode is included as in Civilization (1) it would then show how many years Before *whatever* you build your first city and so on.
Of course there should be an option to use the regular BC AD timeline.
any comments?
