Let's have LOTS of event macro triggers!
(Apologies of course if my topic has already been discussed to death.)
I believe it is relatively cheap (easy to program and not hard to test software) for firaxis to add lots of triggers to civ3. Triggers make it possible to program a scenario event in specific situations. Civ2-tot has a nice event language, but not enough triggers.
Why not add them almost everywhere they are safe to add? E.g.:
- trigger an event if a city's population increases to N.
- trigger an event if a city's population decreases to N.
- trigger an event if something is sold
- trigger an event if something disbands.
etc., etc.
Don't ask what these triggers are for, just provide them, sit back, and watch the scenario builders do their magic!
