Heres something I'd like to see be added to the diplomatic screen. When you make an offer to the AI, the advisor tells you whether or not the AI will accept it or not. Why not have it work both ways? When the AI makes an offer to you, he can tell you whether or not you can get more out of them, or at least if you're getting a bad deal. For example, China offered me their World Map for mine, plus 5 gold. Thinking China knew something I didn't, I accepted. They gained knowledge of a bunch of sea routes, which they started trading in, and I basically got a territory map. My advisor should have been able to tell me that my map was better.

I agree TM are valuable, however, it would have been nice to know that's all I'd be getting out of his world map. When I have 90% of the world explored, and he has 40% explored, that's information I really need to know. Now I know exact figures shouldn't be known to me, because they'd keep that secret. But my advisor should be able to tell me if it's more than a 5-10% difference. They don't call me Springfield Fats because I'm morbidly obese!

Well, I wouldn't say it sucks, but there are lots of things that could be improved in the foreign / trade advisor screen, that are more important, IMO. E.g.:
- you should be able to see all civs at once
- you should be able to see what you are currently trading and how long the trade will last
These improvements have been discussed in several threads before and I hope they will be in the "June" patch or at least in PtW.

How about a 'Cut to the chase and give me precious moments of my life back' button which will save you from having to try and dicker every last dollar.
Just make it so the AI asks for the amount it wants, no more and no less, and make it so when you offer something, it counters with what it wants, no more, no less. Playing with offers was fun for about 45 seconds, then it just became tedious trying to wring every last dollar from a deal...

I have a better idea: A new user interface on Diplomacy.
Right now if you play with a dozen civs and reach the Industrial Age if you want to check MPP, ROPS, alliances, et al, it is such an absurd jumble of useless lines it looks like a bowl of linguini thrown against a wall.
