Well, the long way is to go (from windows) into the Civ3 folder and then the save games folder and right click and delete as you like. This works fine for me.
There is a way to enable right click and delete right from the civ3 load game screen, but I don't remember the details. -
You can take care of the autosaves (if you want) the same way.We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

Put a shortcut of the saved games folder on your desktop.
