Once I got one in my city radius, and was promptly killed by a barbarian in ANOTHER goody hut I popped with my settler.

note to self: dont pop huts with settlers/workers

I remember I got 2 in a couple of games pre-1.21f. I never got more than 1 with the newest patch, so I voted 1.

And 7 of them in 1 game? Sorry, REALLY hard to believe...

            nope, I mean workers.

oh, you mean you captured seven workers, not getting them out of goody huts. At least I think this what you mean?

                  What!?
I dont think I've ever gotten a worker out of a goody hut before. Is that a modification you made, or an early patch, or a glitch, or something? Doesn't really matter, but thats interesting

Well, it's only a slightly modded original. I only changed which units get lethal bombardment.

But that was only one time, most of the time I don't get any workers, if not 1. I'm not sure, but it was during the transition between 1.17f to 1.21f. However, I'm sure it was 1.21f.

I do want to sit down and edit my mod so that I can get armys and leaders from huts, like in the first version of 1.17f.

Just for the record, there has been some very detailed and controlled testing of what you can get out of Goody hut.

I have personally run about 8,000 iterations where units with 100 movement points are popping well over 50 goody huts in every turn.

Other people have performed similar tests and posted the results of Civfanatics.

                      Results vary depending on:

if the huts are popped before your first city is founded.
whether you are playing an expansionist civ or not.
the difficulty level you are playing on
the barbarian activity level.
None of these test results has ever produced a worker from a Goody Hut in well over a total of 20,000 goody huts being popped.

The probabilty of getting a settler seems to be somewhere down in the 5% to 10% range.

SO the formula for seeing what the chances of getting more than one settler in a row might be can be calculated from:

Probability = (Prob of Getting one Settler) raised to the power of (number of settlers in a row)

The probablity of getting a settler would be about 1 out of 20 chances

The probability of getting two settlers in a row would be (0.05 *0.05) = 0.0025 or about 1 in every 400 chances of where you pop two huts in a row.

The probability of getting 7 settlers or (7 somethings that might be workers) in a row would be (0.05)^7 = 0.000000000781250 (thats 781 with 9 zeros between it and the decimal place). This probability would be possible in about 1 out of 1,280,000,000 games of CIV3 that you might play. (or about a 1 in 1.3 billion chance of really happening if the game was not corrupted.)

                      The probability
