  • Weekend 10 Turn DDay Challenge

I am not a very advanced civ player at all. Still at warlord level. In current game I tried builder for more than 100 years and was stalemated by the AI. Like I said, not grandmaster. But the game seemed like an idea for testing strategy and tactics in a mini game weekend challenge.

I don't know where you are, but it is difficult for me to play a GOTM. However I thought it might to fun to have a 10 turn game of the weekend. To see if you all like the concept, I am making my last game available. Difficulty level may be stretch for some settlers, but very easy for more advanced players. If it is well accepted, maybe others could post a 10 turn GOTW for following weekends.

    Advantages of game:
    1. power is split between 2 continents
    2. AI holds all of one continent
    3. Power score is about even.
    4. Simple, only 3 civs left.
    5. Everyone has infantry
    6. Problem of how to land on hostile continent will come up in future games from time to time.
    7. We all might learn some more effective invasion tactics/strategies.
    8. Difficulty level is low enough, most everyone could play.

    Rules for DDay Challenge

    1. Game play may start at either 1745 or 1750.
    2. Game is over in year, 1772. Oh, you can play longer, but winner is person with best game after 10 turns.
    3. It is ok to read the thread for my comments on what I did wrong.

Careful, if you post a Weekend 10 Turn MicroGame you might learn a ton of lessons at one time, instead of just one a day.

All you have to lose is a bit of ego, the gain is the ability to play better.
