My first game w/ the Germans was not too bad. It seems that I started out pretty far behind, and kept getting worse. Almost everyone was in the Middle Ages while I was still researching Map Making or so.

The only thing that saved me was that I built the Great Library. As soon as it was finished I learned all the rest of the Ancient Era Advances that none of the AI civs wouldn't trade to me, as well as a few Middle Age techs. That caught me up as far as technology.

My only problem is that I built Leo's Wrkshp and it triggered my GA when I had no good units to make. I probably wasted most of my GA, but had good infrastructure by the end of it.

As soon as I was able to make Panzers the Japanese declared war on me and were soon wiped out by myself and my allies.

I found that once I caught up on techs, I could fund most of my research by selling techs to other civs.

I won w/ SS, but still only acheived 'Foolish' status.
