  • FIRAXIS: Upgrade to group move command

The group move command in Civ III is extremely useful when moving large amounts of units. However is can be greatly improved. I suggest a 'batch' command, one that would apply the next unit command given to all of the same units on that square that are not fortified. For example:

Batch + move = All of those units will move to chosen square.
Batch + rebase = All of those aircraft will rebase at chosen city.
Batch + upgrade = All of those units will upgrade.
Batch + fortify = All fortify.

    And so on.

The most useful new movement command I can think of would be a "send all newly produced units of this type, or from this city to 'x' spot." Master of Orion had it, and it was very useful for massing huge fleets prior to an offensive.

I would also like a "wake all of this unit type in this square" command so I don't have to click on 50 tanks to wake them all up when I'm ready to lay the smack down.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

How about a few more commands:

batch + (square with enemy defenders) --> use all troops of this type to take this square (and wait all remaining units when this has been completed); save the tedium of taking out 5 defenders with 50 tanks.

batch + air units / artillery + (square with enemy defenders) --> bombard with all units of this type until all enemies in this square have 1 hp; ditto.

How about a right-click command on the dropdown menu that states 'summon all newly built units to this square'. This would make a good rally point. Perhaps it should be marked with a flag (a la RTS)
