  • I need Knights

In my game i can't make Knights it says Chalvery and a little circle and a slash threw it. But i have iron and horses. and my science advisor says "we lack in science increase your science pending."
So how will i be able to get knights?

Have you researched Chivalry already? I think the advisor shows that you haven't...

And you say you got Iron and Horses, too, in all your cities?

You could attach a savefile here.

Well I guess I can't help you unless you attach it, maybe someone else can. Sounds weird. Did you play with the editor?

That's what most of the civ scenario community said when they opened up the civ3 box

Seriously... you need to post the save so we can see the prob... accoding to what you said there is no reason you can't build them.

Are you sure you researched Chivalry and not just started researching it?

                    Possibility

Are you trying to build Knights in a town that isn't connected to your Capitol by a road? Cities not connected to your empire do not have access to the strategic resources. (For instance, in my current game as the Aztecs, my connected cities can use my iron to build Swordsmen but my cities not yet connected can only build Jag Warriors).

You should definitely be able to build Knights in any town connected to your empire if you have Chivalry, horses and iron.

The circle with the slash through it next to Chivalry on the Science Advisor screen only means that Chivalry is not a required advance. You don't have to research Chivalry in order to be able to advance from the Middle Ages to the Industrial Age. It has nothing to do with whether you've researched it or not. My guess it that either the city in which you are trying to build the knights is not connected to one of the resources (as Incan_Warrior suggested), or that you haven't researched Chivalry yet. Go to the city where you are trying to build the knights and see if both iron and horses show up in the strategic resource box at the top left of the city screen.

One other thought, which I think SultanofATL was probably hinting at: if you are playing as the Japanese, Chinese, or Indians, then you can't build knights because you have a unique unit instead (the samurai, rider, or war elephant respectively).
