  • Tech addict AI

I could hardly believe it. I already knew the AI could sometimes be a tech addict, but I didn't thought it could pay so much for one tech.

In the same manner I got a total of about 1100 gpt by selling fission during the same turn. I'm rich!!!!

I've had similar offers from the AI (although not that high). This only happens late in the game, when you offer a tech that nobody else has yet and is a key tech for winning the game.

The offer is tempting, but you should also consider whether you want to take the risk that the AI might be able to e.g. build the UN before you do....

Of course! But I already started building the UN one or two turns ago, while nobody was building another wonder, and before that I accumulated shields building a battleship!

what level are you playing on?

I got the chinese to pay 167 gold per turn for atomic theory!
and their treasury contained 0 gold at the time
I guess they sold off their military & improvements like crazy
As for modern techs - I keep ALL to myself (playing on warlord for the time being)
I get sweet deals on old techs - and sell off as much as possible - to provide more of a challenge in the end game. It's not much fun if the AI is not able to compete with you in tech
->I know this will not be a problem when I climb up to regent and monarch though :/

what version of the game are you playing? the older versions had an ai exploit where you could as for 999999999999999999999999 gold per turn and they gave it to you.

Just a quick question: it looks like the modern age, but why is Hammurabi still in ancient age garb?

I do not know how it should be, but for me the faces only change within the diplomacy/trade advisor.

Looks about right, thats around 10k for a tech, and on a big map (huge?). I had to pay 5k per tech in modern era just to keep up with space race in my last game, and it was on stantard map. The larger the map is more science (or money) needed per tech.
But whats odd is that they can actually afford 500 per turn, in my games ai keeps tax at minumum

So the big question - did Hammurabi honor the deal, or did you find yourself at war a few turns later?

I'd go to war. But that's just me.

                          Yes he did.
Of course there is some risk, but as I play quite diplomatically, there is no problem. But I won't do that in an MP game (wouldn't you Theseus? )

I wouldn't have taken the deal unless he paid 1480 lump sum and 450 per turn. That way you at least empty his cash on hand prior to him screwing you over.
