  • Captured Wonders

I read from manual "If a Great Wonder is captured (along with the city it’s in), its benefits go to the new owner.", but I found captured Wonders no culture point, is it right?

You get the effects of the Wonder, but not the culture.

I like that! I'm really sick of winning by Culture victory all the time.

I always disable all the victories but Conquest and Space Ship. I think the others aren't very satisfying.

You still get the culture per turn, but not the accumulated culture that wonder has given the other civ. BTW.

Sure about that? I always thought you got no culture for it. Does it depend on if the wonder is obsolete or not when you capture it?

You get the culture, but I think just the base culture, as if you had just built it.

Doesn't that seem backwards? You'd think you'd get the culture points for it from when you capture it on, not the "base" as if it were just built.

I mean, England gets the cultural points for Stonehenge today, but they didn't build the thing!

I think that after a certain period of time a captured wonder should start generating culture points again...

                    Captured wonders generate no culture.
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Then how did a town I just took over, immediately go to size 2 culture?

And yes it had the Great Library.

did you own the town before? Because if you recapture it it will go back to the borders it had under you.

Captured wonders generate no culture points unless you originally built it. This is very easy to check: Just zoom to the city in question and look at the building display at the lower left. Each note behind a building means one culture point generated per turn - and captured wonders show none.

Well, I thought you got the culture per turn.
