best standard earth map?

what's the best standard sized earth map to play with? i do not need correct starting locations

I play the one that came with the game- then added 8 more player_starts to it. A coupla changes here an there for taste, but it really performs well on 16 players, moves along at a good clip, no serious slow-down. But I advise moving the player_starts abit, specially in europe.

Now Marlas Map! The best rendition of earth outside an Atlas I think- but its huge, having said that- the actual living space to build cities means it may not slow down too badly, I'm playing a Marla scenario now (again with some rule-tweaks for taste) and we've reached industrial age a few hundred years early, and still no serious slow-down. But there's alot of game to go so...

Do you know where to get any other standard-maps LaRusso?

dont take it wrong , ...; "the one you make yourself" , that way , you or oneone else can not complain , because whatever is wrong is your own fault , and you can make it as much fun as YOU want it , you being here the player !
