  • Advisors get you down?

I've realized that one of the biggest reasons I gave up on a few previous games was because of my annoying advisors. All the time they taunt me with their depressive comments talking about how ignorant, weak, or cultureless we are. It's kind of upsetting to know that to your cabinet, you are the leader of a nation of losers. I really wish I could turn those damned things off, what they should have them do (perhaps intertwined with their remarks) is present relevant demographic and statistical data on shield production by geography, etc, etc.

Have your advisors ever brought you down?

    No. Prozac does the trick.

Though I do wish there was a in-game "Beat your advisors" game.
    Sorry....nothing to say!

Advisors are stupid period. But they never told me how useless my civ is and everything. Maybe you just plain suck. Joking.
But I agree that we should have options like:

-Cook Domestic Moron for dinner and feed him to crocs
-Kill Foreign Moron with a spoon
-Burn Science advisor if he asks me for more funding when my funding is at 100% already.
-Shove multiple bananas up Military advisor when he tells me I have an average military when I have about 150 modern armor on a standar map.
-Kill cultural advisor by drowning her in the luxuries she always bothers me for.

      I should stop now.....

      Spec.
-Never argue with an idiot; He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I don't really notice if they're annoying or not...I just go my own way.

Shut up! It's the year 1950! I have modern armor and bombers! I-don't-need-saltpeter-anymore! Period!

            Lime roots and treachery!

I totally agree that the advisors can be real bastards. But none of the others can even compare to the diabolic domestic advisor. Who the hell does this b!tch think she is??
No! I do NOT want to build an aqueduct in Pi-Ramses, because Pi-Ramses is on the other side of the world!! Building an aqueduct would take me 120 turns. Don't ask me again, EVER!!!!! And, yes, I KNOW that it will not grow past size 6 and I DON'T CARE! It is 99% corrupt anyway, it will never produce ANYTHING!!!!!
              GAHHHHHH

Ok, I should stop now, before I have a hart attack.

btw, is it possible to turn her off? I would give up body-parts to get rid of that b!tch
No, wait, if we build this large wooden badger......

I am sure there is a way to turn off the Domestic Twit.

Perhaps naked pictures of Bismark will do the trick.

If that doesn't do it try naked pictures of Catherine. Be carefull not to catch a glimpse yourself.

Personally I just ignore them. Playing on a smaller map helps. With less cities you ignore the Domestic Fool less often.

There was someone once who actually posted that they did like the Domestic Nag, and even suggested that she nag about other improvements your cities should build...

But I don't think he had actually played the game for long. Or was some sort of crazy-person...

I say Kill the Domestic Nag! Or at least shut her up.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I'm sure that was an AH DL. But then again, half of Poly is rumoured to be AH DL's.

Somebody accused me of being someones DL. Can't recall who it was I am was supposed to be. Someone that flies off the handle though.

Now I remember who I was accused of being, Ironkinit or however its spelled.

I would prefer being accused of being AH. He seems to have some style at least.

I thought DL's were verboten and grounds for banning at Apolyton.

Coracle thinks I back Firaxis on everything. Even I don't like the Domestic Waste of Pixels. She is not only overactive she needs a graphics upgrade.

Her expressions are just over the edge in comparison to the rest.

'YOU CAN'T DO THAT YOU BLOODY FOOL WHO DO YOU THINK IS RUNNING THIS PLACE ANYWAY.'

'Oh dear the Grand Retardate has gone and wet his pants again. However will our civilization survive for another second with a severly brain damaged imbecile in charge.'

The others don't have that look that they think they are the proper rulers of the universe that the Domestic Insubordinate has.

It would be cool to fire your advisors and shoot them though the head. Then you could be some sort of dictator like Stalin.

How I miss the advisors from Civ II... Ok, they were almost worse than Civ III-advisors at giving any sound advice, but they always made me happier, whatever they said. Actually, my real favourite was the economic advisor, especially in the modern age.
                            "Lets do lunch sir!"
                            That´s a real classic...

By the way, isn´t there anyone that has made a graphic mod to change the advisors? And maybe also change their advise, so it doesn´t get so tiresome? I changed some of the texts in Civ I, it was really easy to do so. But I haven´t figured out how to to it in Civ III. On the other hand, I´ve never even bothered...

Actually, I like the Domestic Advisor. I think she helps me to remember important things about cities that otherwise I would not remember.

                              And I think...

[suddenly a strong noise of people running. "Nurse! What is this lunatic doing sitting at a computer? He should be sedated!"]

I watched you fall. I think I pushed.
